We try to work in adverse weather where possible, but there are some restrictions:
Cold weather
Anything above 5c is fine for us to work in. If the temperature is under 5c, the postcrete will struggle to set. There are some exemptions in specific circumstances, but we try to avoid working in these conditions.
Rain
We don’t mind getting wet when we work and a small amount of rain is no problem at all. There are a few variables with wet weather; the general rule is if there’s two-out-of-three of heavy rain before, during or after an installation, then it would be best to reschedule.
If the ground is waterlogged before we start working, the posts will not be as well protected at the point of contact and the postcrete could have trouble setting. Rain during and after can also affect how well the postcrete sets, but this is easier for us to mitigate and can be worked around.
Snow
Similar to cold weather, the temperature needs to be over 5c for the postcrete to set. A small amount of snow on the floor is no problem, but if the snow is relatively deep, we would reschedule the installation. Snow during the installation is also fine.
